FAQ

Will you come to my home after work to meet with us?

Yes, our team is flexible. We understand how busy life can be and are happy to work around your schedule.

Will Black Hawk present the proposal in person?

Absolutely. We encourage all of our clients to sit down with us and walk through the proposal. Our proposals are unique in that we break down the costs by line item. We make sure that there are no surprises to our client. Our experience allows us to give you a full understanding of what to anticipate and allows you to establish what to spend money on and what to cut back on.

Will my Project Manager stay the same throughout my project?

Yes. Your Project Manager is with you from start to finish.

Can I expect project updates on a regular basis?

We pride ourselves on our open communication with our clients. The success of your project depends on the timeline we committed to. We always consult with you every step of the way.

How long will it take to start my project?

That depends on the project, but we will be accurate and honest with your timeline.   Our proposal  includes a production schedule and timeline so that we are on the same page.  We won’t promise you a start date and then move it out two months.

Will you make sure to keep me informed if our decisions are impacting the production schedule?

Yes. Your Project Manager will let you know if your decisions influence your timeline. We understand how difficult it is to make choices for your project, our job is to keep you on track. For example, if you just can't make up your mind on a floor color or a countertop material, we'll tell you "we need to have your choice by this date, or it pushes us out by 3 days". Often times that little nudge helps you make your decision easier.

Have you had long standing relationships with your subcontractors?

Most of our subcontractors have been with us since we opened our doors. Our Project Managers have also had relationships with these subs prior to founding Black Hawk.

Are you insured?

Yes. We are insured and we are also members of the Better Business Bureau.

Are you RRP Certified?

Yes. If your home was built prior to 1978, Federal regualtions require that contractors are RRP certified. We are.

What is the difference between a remodel and a renovation?

The basic difference between a remodel and a renovation is the scale and reach of the project. A remodel is generally isolated to one or two areas of the home such as the kitchen, bathroom, small addition or moderate interior alteration. A renovation could affect most of not all of the home.
